This is actually my third house in Archeage but so far the biggest Ive been able to find land for and build. Its the swept-roof chalet. Finding land to build on is a tough process as guilds seem to swarm like vultures and take everything they can. So its an achievement I feel when a solo player can manage to get something up.
Earlier this year Blizzard sent out gifts for their tenth anniversary. This gift was for those that had kept their account current for the entire ten years the game has been running. This seemed to spark a lot of complaining and whining on their forums from those that didn’t qualify for this gift. Reading all the posts many of the stories where the same this happened and that happened. Many just let it lapse for a month or two, some even longer, but in the long run the truth is they did let it lapse and keeping the account active for the entire ten years is an accomplishment that should be rewarded.
I read most of the posts at first but they just seemed more like whining to me. Many of those excuses for not keeping an account current are just that….. excuses. I went though financial hardship as many posters did and through it all I kept my account current as it helped me to get through things. Instead of lashing out and affecting those around me I would log on and take my aggression out on the horde, monsters, or anything else that World of Warcraft threw at me. Even when I couldn’t afford to keep a credit card I would still run to the store and get a time card just so I could keep going. No excuses, no whining, and no just not playing either, I struggled through everything and still managed to keep my account going.
I am sure if anyone reads this they will have their own opinions, excuses or whatever for how they justify their own accomplishment or lack there of. Instead of whining though I think one should congratulate those that managed to keep their account current. Thank Blizzard for recognizing an achievement that apparently was harder to do that I realized judging by all the posts from those saying “it was just a couple of months …… “. For those that managed to be with World of Warcraft for the entire ten years I salute you and congratulate you. For those that didn’t get the gift and aren’t whining about it I salute you as well. For those that have nothing better to do than complain and whine you have the right to voice your thoughts and opinions but please read what you type then read what everyone else is posting as well.
